We went through Bremerhaven and its huge freight port, passing the "Last Bar Before New York". We saw some American caravans, school buses and fire engines that hadjust been unloaded from a boat. Lovely cycling along to Cuxhaven, where we waited for the thid part of our day: a ferry to Brunsbüttel. The boat left late in the day and took 3 hours (due to a traffic jam at the Brunsbüttel lock). So we were in for a night ride.
After briefly getting lost in Brunsbüttel, we found our way through the virtually unpopulated landscape. Eventually, at 23.30, we reached our friends Rita and Matze in the village of Marnerdeich. Our old friends Michael and Nati were also visiting, so a merry evening was had with Michael's home made tortillas and various tasty beverages.
Today's run: 103 km
