Day 2: Haarlem to Texel

The girls aren't happy with me today. I promised them a nice easy 50 km, which turned into 91 km with an all-day head wind. Great!

Still, they were very good about it and didn't complain too much. It was a lovely scenic route again. We popped up a few high dunes for some nice views of the sea and the surrounding countryside. Lots of interesting wildfowl if you're in to that kind of thing.

We're beginning to realise that sheep are a very important theme in this part of the world. They're everywhere - even in our room. Marly tried to charm one of them...

... and felt very sleepy for the rest of the day.

Evening ferry to Texel. Cold and tired on arrival, but nice B+B.

Running total: 173 km
